Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has officially launched the Bug Bounty Program for all national digital conversion platforms. This is an expanded program from the campaign Find security holes on technology platforms for COVID-19 prevention and control that was launched on October 4 previously.

Bug Bounty program is an annual activity, the first year is deployed from October 2021 to October 2022. The total award in the first year is expected to be up to 1 billion VND, and is expected to increase gradually according to the actual implementation in the following years.

The Ministry of Information and Communications said that this unit will organize to honor the ranking of the top 50 experts with many contributions to the search and detection of security holes on “Vietnam Information Security Day” taking place in November. yearly. In particular, the 3 best experts with many discoveries and great contributions will receive awards and certificates of merit from the Minister of Information and Communications.

The process of participating in the search and reporting of security holes must comply with the regulations developed and promulgated by the National Cyber ​​Security Monitoring Center (NCSC) in collaboration with relevant units. This regulation specifies the actions that are allowed and the actions that are not allowed when participating in the program. In addition, the NCSC also has specific instructions on the steps of vulnerability testing, assessment and validation; Troubleshoot and fix vulnerabilities.

Information about the scope and important policies of the Bug Bounty program will in turn be published on the Bugrank platform at: https://bugrank.io/user/NCSC/policy. In addition, the list of contributing experts and total achievements will be regularly announced and honored at the Network Trust website.

The NCSC representative said that the Bug Bounty program is a solution to help the Government easily connect with leading security experts in the country and in the world, helping to shorten time, save effort and cost for the government. ensuring network safety and security in finding and detecting vulnerabilities on national digital transformation platforms. This will help agencies and organizations save time and focus resources on important expertise, instead of worrying about dealing with the risk of cyber attacks caused by security holes.
