Jabalpur News: Army rifle man and his wife have committed suicide in Jabalpur. The bodies of a rifleman and his wife posted in the Jabalpur unit of the Jammu and Kashmir (Jack) Rifles were seen hanging from a noose in the government quarters in the morning. The incident was informed by the army to the Kent police station. According to Kent police station in-charge Vijay Tiwari, 28-year-old rifleman Pankaj Singh and his 24-year-old wife Sunita Singh hanged themselves at Sadar J&K Center on Saturday night. Pankaj committed suicide by hanging himself on the verandah of his quarters and wife Sunita by hanging from the ceiling fan. Rifleman Pankaj and Sunita, residents of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, were married last year. About 6 months ago, Pankaj had brought his wife to Jabalpur.
In the initial investigation of the police, it has been found that the relationship between the two was not going well. It is being said that only after the rift in the relationship, the husband and wife have taken the suicidal step. After the information, the police and forensic team reached the spot and started investigation. However, at present no suicide note of his has been found by the police. Police say that on Saturday night at around ten o’clock, both of them slept after having food. In the preliminary investigation, the time of suicide is being told around 1 pm.
Kent Police said that as soon as the soldiers of the army saw the rifle man swinging in the noose with his wife. Immediately informed this to his superiors. On behalf of the army, the police was informed about the matter. After which the police team reached the spot, establishing the way and the bodies were sent for post-mortem. Police said that during preliminary interrogation, it has been found that there was a fight between the two last night over some issue, after which both of them embraced death. Police is busy in the investigation.
