The American car brand introduces a new version of the GL8 Avenir, tweaking the design, upgrading the engine, adding standard equipment and more options. Buick said that the highlight of the MPV lies in the hybrid engine.
Compared to the old version, the GL8 Avenir slightly tweaked the design, adding pearl white color combined with a two-tone Bordeaux red / jade white interior, exclusively for the 6 and 7 seat versions. Tech features add USB charging ports and reading lights for third-row passengers. Particularly for the luxurious 4-seat version, the exterior is exclusive with dark blue color.
The GL8 Avenir 2021 upgrades Buick’s eConnect infotainment system to the latest version, with a new user interface and a navigation system connected with 3D graphics. The American automaker adds a new vehicle monitor and air quality monitor. Depending on version, the GL8 Avenir features a range of electronic safety and assistance systems, and supports vehicle-to-vehicle connectivity features with everything Buick calls V2X (vehicle-to-everything).
GL8 Avenir 2021 is equipped with a hybrid engine, including a 2.0 gasoline engine, a 9-speed automatic transmission, combined with a 48V electric motor, battery and power management module. The intelligent system allows for regenerative braking and additional electricity, Buick says, which is 6% more efficient than the old engine.
In China, the Buick GL8 Avenir 2021 sells for between $67,600 -82,500 USD.
