Car purchasing power increased sharply

Sales of VAMA, Hyundai and VinFast companies in March all increased significantly compared to the previous month.

Ending the slowdown of February due to falling on the Lunar New Year, the domestic auto market started to explode in March when the consumption of new cars by car manufacturers increased. According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the sales of firms reached 29,036 vehicles, an increase of 124% compared to February. This is the highest growth rate since the beginning of the year.

Similar to VAMA, the Hyundai brand under the distribution of TC Motor also recorded good sales growth. It sold 6,807 cars in March, up 56% from the previous month. Hyundai continues to be the best-selling brand in the Vietnamese auto market. Toyota ranked second, selling 6,527 vehicles.

Viet car company VinFast had 2,330 cars to customers in March, up 35.6% compared to February, including 1,312 Fadil cars, 548 Lux A2.0 cars and 470 Lux SA2.0 cars.

The orders paid after the Tet holiday, the more stable supply, and many incentive sales programs from the companies help the auto market get on track. The sales result in March ended the series of two consecutive negative growth months of the market (VAMA data).

With the purchasing power starting to increase, many firms moved on to launch new products, preparing for the battle of market share. Mazda confirmed that it will launch the CX-3 and CX-30 duo, two C-segment CUV models in April. Thaco is likely to introduce both the Kia Sonet, the CUV model positioned under the Seltos in the near future.

At the beginning of the second quarter of 2021, the upgraded BMW Series 5 is also about to be released in Vietnam. Ford dealers have received the Explorer 2021 deposit. While Volkswagen T-Cross, Atlas are also planning to meet Vietnamese guests.
