Due to the lack of rooms open since the end of October, several cinemas have converted to this mode of distribution. “In face-to-face programming, outside school holidays, I have 38 weekly sessions, during holidays at 44. In my virtual room, it’s infinite: currently I sometimes have 70 weekly sessions, which would be impossible to do in two face-to-face rooms “, notes Jean-Serge Pennetier, the director-programmer of Jean-Vigo in Genevilliers (Hauts-de-Seine).
To allow exchanges, contact and interactivity, live meetings with the directors are also scheduled. This is particularly the case with the “Best of Doc” festival.
