In a short video posted on his Instagram account, Guillaume Canet unveiled the end of the shooting of his film while having his blonde mustache shaved, emblem of his character with the winged helmet. Because the actor, who directs the feature film, also plays Asterix, alongside his sidekick, Gilles Lellouche, who plays Obelix.
“Asterix and Obelix: the Middle Empire”, is based on a completely new original screenplay, imagined by Philippe Mechelen and Julien Hervé, and not on an adaptation of one of Goscinny and Uderzo’s albums. A first, excluding animation, for an Asterix film.
