These salads will soon be sold in a paper bag (and that’s a small revolution)

On the fruit side, it is apples, pears, bananas, oranges, clementines, kiwis, tangerines, lemons, grapefruits, plums, melons, pineapples, mangoes, passion fruits and persimmons that will be concerned.

Products from organic farming are also concerned. The penalties incurred can go up to a fine of 15,000 euros and a daily fine of 1,500 euros.

Exceptions for certain “most complicated cases”

The text, resulting from the anti-waste law passed at the beginning of 2020, however provides for exceptions: fruit and vegetables packaged in batches of 1.5 kilograms or more will not be concerned immediately, as well as ” fruit and vegetables presenting a risk of deterioration when sold in bulk ‘.

Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and redcurrants will benefit from a reprieve until June 30, 2026, while plastic-free packaging solutions are found for “The most complicated cases”, according to the ministry cited by the “JDD”.
