Tackle the lack of diversity

The Sine qua non association promotes gender equality and fights against gender-based and sexual violence through sport. Founded by two former professional players, Candice Prévost and Mélina Boetti, she created her … street football club, the Sine qua non Football Club. The objective is to allow young girls in Paris to appropriate the “city stadiums”, mainly occupied by men, and to play football. Already 50 players have been able to wet the jersey thanks to the association. The trainings, organized on Wednesdays and Sundays, are open to all. The next dates in Paris are: June 13 and 27 at the city stade Chapelle-Charbon, June 16 and 30 at the city stade Reverdy, June 20 at the city stadium Max-Rousié, June 23 at the city stade Lepeu-Charonne … The club will be present this summer in Pantin and Vitry before deploying in Île-de-France and France at the start of the school year.

Cooperation

Combine local commitment and international solidarity

This initiative was reported to us by Marie-Claire and Jean-Claude, readers of Weekly in the Vosges. They are members of the Catholic Committee against Hunger and for Development (CCFD-Terre solidaire), an association which “Calls for harmonized development based on the distribution of wealth”. Recalling the mission of CCFD-Terre solidaire to support development projects to improve the living conditions of populations around the world, they organized on June 5 a spiritual walk concluded by a farmers’ market. The objective was twofold: these volunteers made the walkers aware of local productions, and at the same time ran a stand of drinks and pastries at free prices, the profits of which were donated to the international association. A concrete way of giving here and there at the same time.

Migrants

Orient unaccompanied minors

According to the 2019 report of the Unaccompanied Minors Mission (MMNA), 16,760 of these young people are present on French territory. Mostly from Guinea, Mali or Côte d’Ivoire, these unaccompanied minors are particularly vulnerable to human trafficking, drug consumption or prostitution. To protect them, the Belgian Missing Children association wants to give them access to reliable information, wherever they are. It has just launched the Miniila application, available in eight countries including France, which allows them to geolocate the aid structures around them. Accommodation, food, health, clothing, wi-fi… It lists the services according to needs. Are you part of an association? Reference it on the app!

Understanding bipolar disorder

“Being in the South and the North Pole at the same time”, live “Ups and downs” and feel them clash “Like the devil and the cherub depicted in Hergé’s comics”, “Not to be a changeable person but to have changing moods”… Here is how people living with bipolar disorder mention it in a collection edited by Le Funambule. This Belgian French-speaking association of peer helpers living with this disease provides them with support and support, as well as to their relatives, through support groups. The word constitutes the material of this artistic collective work which would like to put an end to the stigmatization of the people having to live with it. “This life partner in perpetuity”. The foreword is signed Ludivine Sagnier, godmother of the association, admiring this collective work which passes “From the whimsical news to the factual narrative, from the nocturnal confession to the theatrical sketches, from the cry to poetry”. Like this moving slam of a bipolar Grand Corps.
