Filmmaker Cédric Jimenez (La French, North Bac) will run mid-May November, a film about the attacks of November 13, 2015 in the Paris region, with Jean Dujardin, announced the production on April 28.
The movie is “a dive into the heart of anti-terrorism during the five days of tracking that followed the attacks of November 13“, specifies StudioCanal in a press release. That evening, jihadist commandos left 130 dead and 350 wounded in the Paris region, outside the Stade de France, on terraces in the capital and in the Bataclan auditorium. .
For what is currently the most ambitious film project on the attacks of November 13 to which, more than five years later, few fictions have been devoted, Jean Dujardin will be surrounded by Sandrine Kiberlain, Jérémie Renier, Anaïs Demoustier or Sofian Khammes, soon to be featured in The cloud. The screenplay is signed by Olivier Demangel who notably worked on the series Baron Noir. Filming, in Île-de-France, Greece and Belgium, is due to start on May 12 for 12 weeks.
Another project, Un año, una noche, has just been shot by the Spanish filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta, played by Nahuel Perez Biscayart, (120 beats per minute) and Noémie Merlant (Portrait of the girl on fire). The film is adapted from the testimony of a Spanish survivor of the Bataclan attack and is not “on the attack itself“, recently indicated one of the French producers, Jérôme Vidal, to AFP.

In addition to these two films in preparation, the director Mikhaël Hers had directed Amanda in 2018, on the story of a little girl who loses her mother in a (fictitious) attack in the Bois de Vincennes, recalling the atmosphere of Paris in mourning post-November 13. On the series side, directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache were also inspired by the post-November 13 trauma to In therapy, broadcast on Arte and which enjoyed significant popularity with more than 41 million online views of its 35 episodes.
