The electric Cerato, or K3 EV sold in China in two versions, is also Kia’s second electric vehicle in this market. The first product is the KX3 EV crossover, priced from 36,000 USD.
The K3 EV has a similar appearance to the gasoline engine version sold in China, slightly different in the closed grille and some blue details – typical of electric cars. In the cabin, the center console of the electric version is also redesigned, the gear selector knob and the 7-inch digital clock are also different points.
A pre-installed electric motor produces 181 hp and 310 Nm of torque, helping the K3 EV reach a top speed of 165 km/h. The 48.6 kWh battery pack allows for a range of 410 km per charge. The company has not revealed the full charging time. The charging port is located on the side of the grille.
Standard equipment on the high-end version includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, a power sunroof, leather seats, keyless entry, automatic air conditioning with an air purifier, an electric trunk, and a wireless charger and an infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen.
Safety equipment of the K3 EV includes 6 airbags, tire pressure warning and a range of active safety features. These systems include adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, driver condition monitoring, blind spot warning and automatic high beams.
In China, the joint venture Dongfeng Yueda Kia is responsible for the distribution of the K3 EV.
