Ligue 2: Grenoble new leader, Paris FC is scared

Author of a card against Dunkirk (4-0), Grenoble takes advantage of the draws of Troyes in Caen (0-0) and Paris FC against Rodez (1-1) to take the lead of Ligue 2. Auxerre brings back a Nancy point (2-2).

Grenoble took control of the Ligue 2 championship after its demonstration against Dunkirk on Saturday (4-0) during the 15th day, also benefiting from the draws of Paris FC and Troyes, respectively against Rodez and Caen. With this victory, the 9th this season, Grenoble (29 points, but a match behind Paris FC) took the lead in Ligue 2. For its part, Troyes (2nd, 28 pts), which also has a game late on the Parisians, preserved his place on the podium despite the draw conceded in Caen. Les Troyens have been undefeated for 10 games.

After having come close to the correction by equalizing late against Rodez, the penultimate, Paris FC (3rd, 28 pts) continues its tumble in the standings with a fifth game without a win (1-1). René Girard’s men, tied on points with Troyes, saw their pursuers, Toulouse (4th, 26 pts) and Auxerre (5th, 25 pts) come closer in the standings. Against Dunkirk, the Grenoblois opened the scoring at the end of the first period after an original combination on a corner concluded by Willy Semedo (43rd, 1-0). In the second period, Djitté doubled the bet from afar (51st, 2-0) after a good breakthrough from the side Jordy Gaspar. Nestor (71st, 3-0) and Anani Jr. in added time (90 + 1, 4-0) sealed the victory.

In Charléty, the Parisians chased the score throughout the game because of a goal conceded from the start on a remote-controlled free kick from Rémy Boissier in the top corner (1-0, 4th). Despite their lack of realism (7 shots on target out of 23 attempted), the Parisians equalized at the end of the match thanks to the left foot of Ali Abdi (1-1, 88th). Dominating against the Caennais in the first period, the Trojans spent a lot of time spilling over the wings but lacked realism (a shot on target for 11 attempts). The second period was more balanced and the men of Pascal Dupraz, more enterprising, almost finished in style when a good free kick from Anthony Goncalves (90th + 3) ended up on the bar.

It was a bit like the evening of draws (five in total), because Amiens and Chambly (1-1), but also Guingamp and Valenciennes (1-1) parted back to back, just like Nancy and Auxerre (2 -2). But in addition to Grenoble, there were still two other victorious teams: Niort against AC Ajaccio (2-0) and especially Toulouse in Châteauroux (3-0), which allows Téfécé (4th, 26 pts) to get closer to the Top 3.
