The current Mazda6 – in its third generation since 2012 – has been around for nearly two decades. The most memorable version may be the sporty Mazdaspeed6, with 274 hp and 379 Nm of torque from a turbocharged 2.3-liter engine with a manual transmission and 4-wheel drive. But sales of Mazda6 in the US are declining. In 2018, the company sold more than 30,000 vehicles, but in 2020, only 16,200 vehicles were sold.

The CX-3 was launched in 2015 and competes in the compact high-cars segment at an affordable price. The crossover was upgraded in 2018 and then in 2020. Sales of the CX-3 also fell sharply, with 2018 and 2020 figures respectively at 16,900 vehicles and 8,330 vehicles.
