ChinaThe British car brand introduced a new crossover model, fitted with a turbocharged 1.5 engine, launched on July 30.
MG One is based on the new Sigma platform of SAIC (MG’s parent company), the new design is more aggressive than its current models. The small crossover is based on two design languages: alpha (focusing on sports, digital intelligence) and beta (focusing on technology, fashion).
The grille of MG One applies a slightly downward slant design, decorated with grid motifs according to each version such as lightning pattern or black dot matrix, chrome border. The LED headlight cluster swipes backwards and extends backwards.
On the side of the body, the muscular wheel cavity combined with the rear sloping roof and the C-pillar provide a more dynamic, coupe-like line. Newly designed taillights, long and narrow 3D style. Fierce front and rear bumpers.
The MG One is 4,579 mm long, 1,866 mm wide, 1,601 mm high and has a 2,670 mm wheelbase. This size is not much better than competitors in the B-segment crossover segment such as Hyundai Kona or Kia Seltos.
The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, with a capacity of 181 horsepower, maximum torque of 275 Nm, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine is similar to the new MG 5 model and was developed by Shanghai Automotive Group.
