New York Auto Show returns in August

AmericaAfter being postponed and canceled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s New York Auto Show is scheduled for August 20-29.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on June 2 that the New York International Auto Show will return with a new look at the Jacob Javits Center at the end of August. Tickets will go on sale from June 30.

Almost an entire auditorium will be devoted to displaying electric vehicle models. A total of about 1,000 models will converge at this year’s event.

This year’s exhibition will also return with the same expected capacity before the pandemic. Jacob Javits Center was recently expanded and has an area of 111,500 m2, which is an increase of 50% compared to before, which also means more space so that not too many people gather in one place.

However, the organizers still emphasize that they always comply with regulations on disease prevention. The sale of contactless tickets, distance regulations and rules on hygiene and disinfection will be closely monitored.

In 2020, the New York auto show was originally scheduled to be held on April 10-19 but was later postponed to September 28-8-6 due to the epidemic. On May 22, the organizers announced the cancellation of the event because the Convention Center where the exhibition took place continued to be used as a place to treat Covid-19 patients.
