No MLA-MP did not go to meet Mulayam after becoming Defense Minister, himself told the reason

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had told that even after he became the Defense Minister, no MLA-MP came to ask him for help. This is the reason why UP lags behind other states.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had already made it clear that this time he will not contest the election with any major party. In such a situation, speculations were being made about the alliance of Samajwadi Party with Shivpal Singh Yadav’s party Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party. Now Shivpal has made it clear that he has put a condition in front of Akhilesh, if he accepts it, then we will form an alliance and the condition is that he will have to give tickets to our people respectfully. An old interview of Mulayam Singh Yadav is going viral between Akhilesh and Shivpal’s conversation.

Senior journalist Shekhar Gupta asks Mulayam Singh Yadav during this interview, ‘Looking at other states, there has been a lot of change in them, but there has been no change in the village of UP. UP is absolutely behind by 10-15 years. Why did this happen?’ In response, he had said, ‘There were three main reasons for being behind UP. The first was that even after being the Prime Minister of UP, development money was not available. Because they felt that if they help UP, then other states will feel bad.

Mulayam Singh Yadav had further told, ‘After the Ayodhya movement, Chandrashekhar had tried to give money, but his government was gone. The second reason was that all our MPs and MLAs are elected, they never put forward our point of view. MPs only debate and even after going to Delhi they do not ask for help from any officer of the Secretariat. Let me tell you as an example that when I became Defense Minister for the first time, no MP-MLA came from Uttar Pradesh to meet me. All the leaders of other states used to come to meet us.

Third reason: The former CM had said, ‘The third reason was that the IAS officers of our state were also like this. He never worried about UP. Even after being in the Central Secretariat, he did not take any concrete step. Apart from this, corruption was also encouraged to an excessive extent in the previous governments.

When was the Defense Minister made? Let us tell you, after the fall of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government in the year 1996, the United Front government was formed with the help of Congress and HD Deve Gowda became the Prime Minister of the country. This front included 13 parties like Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party and DMK. In this government, Mulayam Singh Yadav was also given an important ministry. He became the Defense Minister of the country. However, this government could not last long.

During that time it was also discussed in the political corridors that Mulayam Singh Yadav could become the Prime Minister of the country. Mulayam himself had told in an interview that everything was settled and he had to take oath in the morning, but due to the opposition of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sharad Yadav, he could not become the Prime Minister of the country.
