The actress Catherine Frot is back in the cinema in the role of a designer of roses on the verge of bankruptcy who will hire three people in integration to try to save her small farm. The second film by Pierre Pinaud, the shooting took place in 2019 near Roanne and arrives this June 30 on the screens. Part of the team returned to the Loire for a preview of La Fine fleur, and a very official baptism …
The shooting took place at the Dorieux, a family of rose growers established since 1928 in Montagny near Roanne. And to enter the role, Catherine Frot was initiated into the profession by Mathias Dorieux, breeder of roses. “OHe transmitted to me this emotion of roses, this work which is a work of detail, of observation. Something both scientific and at the same time manual, very simple, it looks like a miracle in fact“, confided the actress just before the screening of the film.
A somewhat special preview, since Catherine Frot the actress baptized, with champagne as tradition dictates, Catherine Frot the rosebush. A rose bush created by Maison Dorieux to celebrate the release of this film which highlights a rare profession. Mathias Dorieux hopes that he will attract young people to the horticultural sector in general and the creation of roses in particular: “The profession of breeder of roses is very little known. We are twenty-five in the world and there are twelve in France. (…) I hope that it will arouse vocations, because now, finding manpower in this field is very complicated.“.
