After analyzing more than 5 million mobile apps on the App Store and Google Play, Pixalate discovered that more than 813,000 apps (15%) were delisted in the first 6 months of 2021.
However, these apps still exist on your phone (if you’ve installed them before), and have the potential to seriously compromise privacy.
The delisting of an app can be caused by a variety of reasons, including a violation of store policy or a developer recall.
Meanwhile, 66% of apps removed on Google Play have at least one “dangerous permission”, such as GPS access (27%), camera (19%).
