The car dealership brands like to sell the most

AmericaLexus is the most preferred brand by auto dealers according to the latest survey, maintaining its position since 2018.

When recovered, American auto dealers say they like to sell Lexus cars the most, according to a survey by the American Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) conducted this past summer. The survey is usually done in the summer and winter each year, to consult the views of the car dealership system across the United States.

Lexus – Toyota’s luxury brand – has continuously held the top spot since 2018. The second place is Toyota.

2021 looks set to be a good year for Lexus, or at least in the final months of the year, as chip shortages are impacting many other brands across the industry. In the third quarter, Lexus delivered 81,000 cars to customers, higher than 75,600 cars of BMW and 55,000 cars of Mercedes.

3rd place belongs to Honda, while Subaru and Porsche respectively stand in the next two positions. The top 5 in the summer 2021 survey are also the top 5 brands of the winter 2020 survey, but the position changes for the three brands behind. At that time, Subaru ranked third, followed by Porsche and Honda.

According to a report by Automotive News, among the last 10 positions of this summer’s survey were BMW, Kia, Audi, Acura and Mazda. The worst news belongs to Mercedes and Volvo when both were in the Top 10 of the winter 2020 survey, but fell out of the Top 10 this summer.

NADA has conducted a Dealer Perspective Survey since 1985 to gather car dealers’ opinions on key issues affecting dealer-manufacturer relationships. NADA forwarded these views to automakers but did not name dealers.
