“The Catalan country life size”, the declaration of love of the director Cyril Tricot to his native land

A vision of things that the documentary maker tries to convey through this new film, The Catalan country life size. After having crisscrossed the planet for 25 years for National Geographic, Discovery Channel or France Télévisions, this passionate about scuba diving and photography has therefore decided to put his bags at home, in the Pyrénées-Orientales: “I promised myself when I would stop Ushuaia to do something about the Catalan country, to put my passion, my know-how, my experience at the service of a film on the department “.

This is today done. After a first part in 2012 (Between sky and sea), Cyril Tricot wanted to take a closer look. Thanks to the use of drones and 4K technology, the filmmaker tried to “take” the viewer with him on this journey to the heart of the Catalan country. Underwater or aerial images, some of which are filmed by an eagle equipped with a camera, the point of view on nature and heritage is unique: “We see Elne’s cathedral like we’ve never seen it before. We climb high, near the statues, we see the texture of the stone, its shine … I think that in the film, even those who know the place will discover things that they had not necessarily seen, because we are in the detail “.
