BrotherThe white “bug” was pulled behind a crane, flung across and hit, damaging a series of vehicles parked on the roadside, on 17/11 in London.
The video, recorded by a man standing on the pavement along Federation Road in Abbey Wood, shows a crane rolling only a few meters, the Beetle smashing into a car parked on the side of the road, after a few meters smashing another vehicle. The crane driver didn’t seem to care what was going on, kept driving pretty fast and then it went on.
On the same day, the local police received reports of a Beetle and a Vauxhaull Zafira being stolen from a parking lot in a residential area.
Police later found both the Beetle and the abandoned truck near the site of the incident. Witnesses recounted: “A woman in a silver Corsa was driving in chase, causing the crane driver to stop and run to escape”.
Some residents in the area said the Vauxhall Sephora was towed by a crane on a nearby street, just 15 minutes before the Beetle fell into a similar situation. The owner of the Sephora said that the car was stolen for scrap. There were even two child seats and two children’s scooters on board. The mother of two said: “The value of the car is no more than 1,300 USD”.
The police are investigating and no one has been arrested. A total of six vehicles were damaged by the Beetle hit, with conditions ranging from shock absorbers, scratches, and dents in the outer corners of the head and tail. “Luckily no one lost their life,” commented one person.
