In some parts of the world, winter temperatures are cold enough to make roads frozen and driveable. But even under the best of circumstances, this can be very dangerous – as a female driver experienced on a frozen river in Ottawa on January 16.
According to the news from CTV News, someone was driving a yellow Scion tC flying over the frozen water right in front of several adults and children. Eyewitnesses said that the 3-door car ran into the thin ice area and fell into the water. Immediately after, the female driver climbed onto the roof and while waiting to be rescued, took out her phone to take a picture of herself.
Minutes later, two men with kayaks ran up and the woman was brought ashore when the Scion was almost completely submerged.
