Véran is considering a 3rd dose of vaccine for those over 65 from September

Soon the third dose of anti-Covid vaccine? The Minister of Health Olivier Véran declared this Monday, August 23 on BFMTV that the High Authority of Health (HAS) “Will probably tell us to make this 3rd injection in all people aged 65 and over, who are traditionally called to be vaccinated against the flu and in those, younger, with chronic diseases, who are very fragile”.

Health pass: little tricks and big scams

“Just to remind you briefly, the third dose is to say to yourself that once you have had two doses, you are protected, but the protection conferred by the vaccine can diminish over time, over months, and it it is therefore necessary to offer a third injection to those who are the most fragile ”, he explained.

And to specify: “We could start at the beginning of September, there would necessarily be a delay of at least six months between the 2nd and the 3rd injection. “ Like other injections, this one will be free.

Vaccinate populations at risk

He thus confirms the words of Gabriel Attal, government spokesman, on August 11. During a speech, he already announced a “recall campaign” to inject a third dose of anti-Covid vaccine to “Populations at risk”.

However, the age group has changed. President Emmanuel Macron then spoke of “Vaccination reminders for people aged over 80 and particularly vulnerable from the start of the school year”.

Americans will be able to receive a 3rd dose of anti-Covid vaccine as of September 20
