A few hours after a leak of a pirate version on TikTok, Marvel and Sony released on the night of Monday to Tuesday the trailer for the next cinematographic adventures of the spider-man: the film is called Spider-Man: No Way Home. Directed by Jon Watts, it will be released in theaters on December 15, 2021.

Starring alongside Tom Holland alias Peter Parker and Spider-Man, actress Zendaya returns to the role of “MJ”, while Benedict Cumberbatch dons his Doctor Strange clothes, requested by Peter Parker to restore his anonymity, with unfortunate consequences … In this new film, Spider-Man finds himself immersed in the multiverse, that is to say parallel and alternate universes. A golden opportunity to come out of the hat of old Spider-Man acquaintances, such as Doctor Octopus (well known to fans of the historical comics), played by Alfred Molina who thus finds his role of Spider-man 2 from 2004, which was directed by Sam Raimi.

In the trailer, clues also suggest the return of Electro, of which Jamie Foxx is to take over the role (seven years later The Amazing Spider-Man in 2014), but also that of the legendary Green Goblin immortalized on screen by Willem Dafoe – but his presence is not officially confirmed. Various surprises are thus possible, sites like Numerama believing to guess the presence of other famous villains …

The perspectives opened up by the multiverse therefore fuel many rumors around this new installment of Spider-Man: fans simply dream of finding the two previous actors who played the spider-man in cinema in the 21st century, Andrew Garfield. and of course Tobey McGuire, star of the first trilogy in the early 2000s … Marvel and Sony are sure to keep the suspense hanging for as long as possible.

As for director Jon Watts, he has already officiated on the previous adventures of the superhero with Tom Holland starring, Spider-Man: Homecoming (where Watts was also a co-writer) in 2017 and Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019.
