AustraliaHigh-performance pickup model aimed at off-road, equipped with 3.0 V6 diesel engine, sold from 2022.
Melbourne-based tuning company Walkinshaw Performance, in conjunction with Volkswagen, launched Amarok W580X. The new pickup was focused on off-roading, before the German automaker “retired” Amarok and replaced it with a new pickup model developed from the Ford Ranger platform.
The car is equipped with a 3.0 V6 diesel engine with a capacity of 255 horsepower, maximum torque of 580 Nm, 4-wheel drive through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The tuner upgraded the new suspension with MTV twin-tube shock absorbers and front lifters, combined with off-road tires.
Amarok W580X has a bonnet protection plate, painted with black stripes and decorated on both sides. 18-inch rims, muscular fenders. To distinguish it from other W580 models, the high-performance pickup is fitted with Seikel chassis guards, LED light strips, AT tires, optional “snorkel”.
Other standard equipment includes rubber mats, Walkinshaw heated seats, multi-function steering wheel with gearshift box, 2-zone automatic climate control, tire pressure monitoring, Bi-xenon headlights and lights. LED fog.
Volkswagen Amarok W580X will compete with Ford Ranger Raptor, Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior, Toyota Hilux Rugged X in the Australian market.
