Why was Akhilesh not given freedom to run the government? Such was the answer of Mulayam Singh on this question

Senior journalist Prabhu Chawla asked senior Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav a question about Akhilesh. In response, he said something like this.

Akhilesh Yadav has intensified campaigning on behalf of the Samajwadi Party in view of the elections in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, while addressing a gathering in BJP’s stronghold Gorakhpur, he had said, ‘Seeing this public meeting, it seems that BJP is sure to be wiped out. Perhaps seeing so many people, BJP must have got fever too. Senior Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav is currently away from campaigning. But he is seen showing the right direction to Akhilesh at many places.

An old interview of Mulayam Singh Yadav with senior journalist Prabhu Chawla is going viral. In this interview, Mulayam Singh Yadav was asked a question about interference in Akhilesh’s government. Prabhu Chawla had asked the question, ‘If you hold meetings in UP again and again, you tell the officers and ministers that they are not working. Your son must be scared of him. You didn’t even allow officers to be formed in Akhilesh’s government as per his wish. In a way, Akhilesh was not even given the freedom to run the government.

Mulayam Singh Yadav replied, ‘We have no control on Akhilesh’s freedom. We came by winning against corruption. We try that our government should not be accused of corruption. I told my workers and ministers to be careful. What can we not even say that being the head of the party. If we feel that some mistake is happening somewhere, then we will absolutely raise our voice against it. If I am the president of my party, then there will be little government bigger than us.

Let us tell you, in the year 2012, when the Samajwadi Party got a majority, Mulayam Singh Yadav made his son Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister in his place. However, after some time the discord of the family also came to the fore and Shivpal Singh Yadav separated and formed his own party. It also had to bear the brunt and the Congress-SP alliance suffered a crushing defeat and the BJP proved successful in forming the government. Now Akhilesh is once again trying to bring uncle Shivpal along.
